FAQ
IS IT HARDER TO BAKE USING VEGAN INGREDIENTS?
It is easier than you think! As the world evolves and more people decide to eat more plant-based the more options are available. In many stores, there are substitutes for things such as milk and butter. My favorite substitutes for milk are soymilk, almond milk, and oat milk. My favorite substitutes for butter are made by the brands Country Crockâ„¢ and Earth Balanceâ„¢.
DOES USING VEGAN INGREDIENTS CHANGE THE TASTE?
No, when you find the right substitute for you and you use the right measurements everything tastes just as it would if it were not vegan. My favorite milk to bake with is almond because the nutty flavor bakes out and it adds an extra sweetness that you wouldn't get with soymilk or oat milk. I prefer the Country Crock™ stick butter made with olive oil because it lasts a very long time in the fridge and it's affordable!
HOW DO THE PRICES VARY FROM VEGAN TO NOT VEGAN?
Although vegan ingredients tend to be more on the pricey side it is all worth it on the other end. Fuelling our bodies with the most natural ingredients is very important since our body is a temple and we only get one. Using organic non-GMO produce gives our body the ability to fuel ourselves without the harm of pesticides and other chemicals.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE VEGAN TO ENJOY VEGAN FOOD?
No! As a matter of fact, lots of the food we eat is vegan without us knowing it. In most of your meals, there are aspects of it that are completely vegan! Even some of the treats that you find on the grocery store shelves that would assume are not vegan are! One main example of this is Oreos.
